Location
Vivante is located in the historic waterfront town
of Punta Gorda. The roots of this city can be traced
to the landing of Hernando Soto at Live Oak Point on
the Peace River in 1539. The conquistadors named this
city Punta Gorda, which means “broad point.”
Today, Punta Gorda is the only incorporated city in Charlotte County and is home to more than 12,000 residents. These people and others realize the beauty of this place. In 1997, Money magazine ranked Punta Gorda the second best place to live on their top twenty “best places to live” list and it was ranked fourth by Sperling in 2003.
This community, situated approximately 100 miles south of Tampa, offers a laid-back Florida lifestyle. The streets are lined with huge royal palms, street lamps and benches. Old Florida-style tin roofed homes with wide verandas and brick lanes evoke memories of a lovely, easy-going southern town. The recently revitalized downtown district adds to the charm with cobblestone streets and gas lamp streetlights. It is near the downtown district where you will find Fisherman’s Village. This unique waterfront destination offers fishing, sailing, water sports, sight-seeing cruises, live entertainment, special events and gorgeous sunsets.
Charlotte Harbor flanks the Northwest side of the city and delivers 129 square miles of sunshine, sparkling water, great fishing and an abundance of wildlife. Punta Gorda provides its residents a casual and friendly atmosphere and the best of Florida living.
Vivante’s central location positions residents within minutes of everything that Punta Gorda has to offer. Additionally, the close proximity to I-75 gives residents easy access to popular destinations throughout the state.
