Job Description: The position requires a Ph.D, or MD, or MD/PH.D. in virology and cell biology with 7-10 years of independent research experience in academia, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry. The candidate must have extensive research experience and expertise in herpes virus biology, and expertise in HIV and/or HCV would be a strong plus. Expertise in profiling the activities of novel compounds against viral and host targets in enzymatic and cell based assays and conducting mechanistic studies to elucidate how compounds inhibit viral replication are required. Excellent communication skills and leadership experience are required. The ability to integrate multiple projects and to perform collegially in a complex environment is essential. The successful individual will be a member of a cross-disciplinary scientific team and will be responsible for achieving key program milestones. In addition, the individual will be responsible for formal and informal communications to internal personnel, external reviewers and advisors.
Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for both the development of novel virus-based bioassays for use in high-throughput, cell-based screens, and the virological back validation of promising lead formulations. The successful individual will work closely with the Senior Molecular Virologist and will be a member of a cross-disciplinary scientific team and will be responsible for achieving key program milestones. A Ph.D. in Virology, Molecular Virology, Biochemistry, or Infectious Diseases is required.
Job Description: Individuals with training and expertise (pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry, biochemistry, biology, enzymology) and possess demonstrable skills in state of the art techniques to characterize and optimize the physicochemical and DMPK characteristics of new chemical entities. These techniques include in vitro enzymatic and whole cell assays of drug metabolism and characterization of metabolites, drug permeability and efflux transporter assays, plasma protein binding assays, determinations of drug-drug interaction potential, and physicochemical property determinations. In addition, the department works closely with in vivo biology to design and conduct DMPK studies in various species. This includes providing LC/MS analytical support, pharmacokinetic analysis and modeling, and reporting and in-depth interpretation of results.
